Jonathan Patz, MD, MPH, receives WARF Named Professorship: Tony J. McMichael Professor of Planetary Health

The University announced that Professor Jonathan Patz has been selected to receive a 2021-2026 WARF Named Professorship. This Professorship is one of the very highest honors bestowed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and very much deserved by Dr. Patz for his pathbreaking research, teaching and service addressing the climate change crisis, its human health effects, and solutions to benefit people and the planet.

Through this professorship, Dr. Patz has chosen to honor the late Dr. Anthony J. McMichael, a dedicated environmental epidemiologist and mentor to Dr. Patz, whom Dr. Patz worked with at the IPCC.
