Population Health Sciences is pleased to welcome Dr. Lawrence Brown, Visiting Associate Professor (CHS) of Population Health Sciences and Director of the Population Health Insitute’s County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, and Dr. Jomol Mathew, Visiting Associate Professor (CHS) of Population Health Sciences and Chief of Biomedical Informatics for the Institute of Clinical and Translational Research.
On December 30th, 2019, Dr. Brown joined UW-Madison from the School of Community Health and Policy at Morgan State University, where he worked from 2010 to 2019, as a Post-doctoral Fellow, an Assistant Professor, and an Associate Professor. Dr. Brown’s research has focused on the impact of historical trauma and racial disparities on community health.
Faculty Profile
Dr. Jomol Mathew joined UW-Madison on April 1st from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she has served since 2015 in roles including Chief Research Informatics Officer, Associate Chief Information Officer, and Head of Research Technologies and Data Sciences. Dr. Mathew will use her expertise in biomedical informatics to develop and guide the research and strategy for the SMPH’s work in predictive analytics, precision medicine, and translational research.
