Dr. Sprecher’s research focuses on the contribution of sleep and circadian rhythms to healthy aging. She is currently investigating how sleep in midlife relates to later life cognition and physical function, capitalizing on the Wisconsin Sleep Cohort, an ongoing longitudinal study that has followed community-dwelling adults for 30+ years. Dr. Sprecher also works to promote sleep-friendly public policy as the Communications Director of the Sleep Research Society’s Advocacy Task Force. She completed her MS in Neuroscience at the University of Otago in New Zealand, her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin, and postdoctoral training in Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado.
