What are your areas of interest within population health sciences? Green Space, Built Environment, Physical Activity, Mental Health
Interest Statement: Prior to coming to UW-Madison, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Health and my Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology from Indiana University-Bloomington. After graduation, I worked for a few years in public health, but I knew that I would eventually come back to academia to pursue population health research. My aim in the program is to study the impacts of the built environment, and specifically green space exposure, on mental health, well-being, and physical activity.
Why did you choose UW-Madison for your degree? I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff of faculty at UW-Madison when I came for my visit. In addition, after speaking with students in the program, it was clear that I would have more opportunities and support to conduct research that fit with my research interests.
What do you hope/plan to do with your degree? In the future, I plan to continue my career in population health research.
