Abstract:
Over half the world’s population is exposed to household air pollution from biomass and coal stoves used for cooking and heating. Estimating the causal effects of household air pollution on health has proven challenging. This seminar will draw from empirical studies conducted in low- and middle-income countries to describe these challenges, and will discuss new tools and methods that can facilitate epidemiological research in these settings.
