This info session will introduce restricted data products available at the WiscRDC and will discuss the advantages of using restricted data. The WiscRDC is one of the local Federal Statistical Research Data Centers (RDCs) which are satellite “libraries” that allow researchers to access restricted data from various government agencies (e.g., Census Bureau, AHRQ, BLS, SSA, IRS) and is located on the 3rd floor of the Social Science building. The info session will address how to get started, how to apply, and how to work in the WiscRDC.
Your Presenters are Yang Wang: Executive Director of the WiscRDC and associate professor at La Follette School of Public Affairs; Robert Thomas: local Census employee who helps researchers apply for restricted access; Jing Tian MD PhD, from NCHS, will also discuss data opportunities with the National Center for Health Statistics.
