Dr. Pollack Porter is a health equity scholar whose research advances policies that create safe and healthy environments where people live, work, play, and travel, with an emphasis on addressing structural drivers of health through policy change and promoting effective cross-sector collaborations. Dr. Pollack Porter engages with policymakers to inform the development and implementation of policies that can advance health equity at the local, state, federal, and tribal levels. She is chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and directs the Health Policy Research Scholars, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
