Cancers of the Ovary and Cervix: Risk and Prevention
Abstract: Dr. Phung’s presentation will cover the key areas of his research in cancer epidemiology. He will discuss his research that aims at advancing ovarian cancer precision prevention through risk stratification. he will also present his research on improving cervical cancer screening in Vietnam, a middle-income country. Finally, Dr. Phung will present an overview of plans for future research.
Bio: Minh Tung Phung, PhD, MPH is a research faculty at the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He earned his PhD in Epidemiologic Science and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Michigan. His research interests span across the cancer continuum, including cancer etiology, prevention, and survivorship, as well as health disparities in cancer. Dr. Phung’s research has specifically focused on cancers among people who were assigned as female at birth, including breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers.
