Dr. Merten received the Gerontological Society of America Health Sciences Research Award. This award is given to a new investigator in the Health Sciences Section (one awardee per year). The award is made on the basis of a 1,500-word paper in combination with an accepted abstract submitted to the conference. Dr. Merten was recognized and received the award at the Gerontological Society of America Annual Scientific Meeting in Boston last week. More information on the award can be found here.
