Dr. Merten received the Gerontological Society of America Health Sciences Research Award. This award is given to a new investigator in the Health Sciences Section (one awardee per year). The award is made on the basis of a 1,500-word paper in combination with an accepted abstract submitted to the conference. Dr. Merten will be recognized at the Health Sciences Section Recognition and Networking Event at the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting.
