Dr. Elizabeth Cox has been named Director of the UW- Madison Prevention Research Center (UWPRC). The Mission of UWPRC is to improve the health of low-income women, infants and families through the conduct of high-quality applied health promotion and disease prevention research with a focus on achieving health equity.

Dr. Jasmine Zapata, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Population Health Sciences Affiliate, and graduate of the UW Preventive Medicine Residency, was named the 2020 Superhero of Medicine by the Wisconsin Medical Society to honor her efforts to eliminate health disparities.
