PHS Monday Seminar: J. Paul Kelleher, PhD, "Uwe Reinhardt (1937-2017), Health Economist: A Philosophical Remembrance"

Uwe Reinhardt, the influential and charismatic Princeton University health economist, passed away on November 13, 2017. Combining mordant policy analysis with humane concern for the economically vulnerable, Reinhardt was a perceptive critic of both the U.S. health care system and the philosophical presuppositions underlying neoclassical welfare economics. This talk will discuss Reinhardt's moral and philosophical views and evaluate their import for the future of health economics in the United States.
