- Recall how these designs can be utilized to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to prevent healthcare-associated infections, such as surgical site infections and bloodstream infections.
Marin Schweizer, PhD is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on evidence-based strategies to reduce the prevalence of and poor outcomes from healthcare-associated infections. She has had grant funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to research strategies to prevent surgical site infections and bloodstream infections, comparative effectiveness of antibiotics to treat S. aureus infections, and de-implementation of unnecessary tests and treatment. She has expertise in study design, meta-analysis, and outcomes research.
