The acclaimed author of How Risky is it, Really? — Why our fears do not always match the facts will discuss his thoughts on risk perception and management during the COVID-19 pandemic.

David Ropeik is retired Harvard Instructor, author, and potter. He was a TV reporter for WCVB in Boston, twice winning the DuPont Columbia Award, often referred to as the Pulitzer Prize of broadcast journalism. He taught the psychology of risk perception at the Harvard School of Public Health, and was an international consultant in the communication of risk. He is author of How Risky Is It, Really? Why Our Fears Don’t Always Match The Facts and the forthcoming Rethinking Our Fear of Cancer, How Excessive Worry About a Dread Disease Does Great Harm All by Itself (in press Johns Hopkins University Press)
