Daniel Panyard

Graduate Student in the PhD Epidemiology program since 2015

Fort Wayne, IN

Brief Interest Statement: My interest in epidemiology and population health research came about as a way of bringing together the diverse experiences I had in basic science, medicine, and EHR software. I enjoyed studying the complexity of human biology and physiology, believed in the importance of using that information to improve human health, and appreciated the challenge of using technology to push the boundaries of medicine. Epidemiology allows me to work at the interface between these areas.

What do you hope/plan to do with your degree? I plan to conduct research into the etiology and treatment of chronic disease by developing and applying bioinformatics techniques to the analysis of genomic and clinical data, eventually translating these discoveries into clinically actionable tools and findings.
