Biography

Cherie graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA in Physics and a concentration in Environmental Studies where her senior thesis on energy use and crop rotations became the basis for continuing student research on sustainable agriculture. Her work in sustainable food systems and biodiversity has included ownership of and management experience on CSA, organic, and biodynamic farms in the US, Germany and Eastern Europe. Her fieldwork, as a member of the UWHC Healthy Hospital Committee, focuses on improving food and beverage environments in health institutions. She is also working to expand the use of Behavioral Screening and Intervention at primary care clinics in Wisconsin. She plans to pursue work in Quality Improvement, prevention, and impact evaluation in health care systems.
