Strategic Prevention Framework-State Incentive Grant (SPF-SIG)
SPF-SIG is another demonstration funded by SAMHSA. UWPHI is providing surveillance and program evaluation services for this large five-year cooperative agreement. The State’s strategic plan was approved by SAMHSA in late 2008 and 20 grants were awarded in April 2009. Coalitions will address one of the following state priorities: underage drinking among 12-20 year olds; young adult binge drinking among 18-25 year olds; or alcohol-related motor vehicle fatalities and injuries for individuals between the ages of 16-34. A statewide survey to measure the capacity of coalitions to develop and implement evidence-based environmental prevention programs was designed by evaluation staff and was administered in early 2009. Robin Moskowitz Lecoanet, JD, is project director for this effort.
